In front of the beach Bali is found the island of Gramvousa that there is a castle which was built by the Venetians and was used as a fortress against the would-be conquerors who occasionally wanted to trespass. The beach at the lagoon Balos is sandy with fine whitish sand and shallow water, very warm especially in summer. On the beach there is a problem with tar. Outside the lagoon the waters are deep and transparent. On the beach there are some sun beds and umbrellas, but there are no food options other than a canteen for water or for a cold drink. The access can be done by boat from the port of Kastelli or by car. If you choose the car, notice the11 km difficult dirt road (30 minutes) and the 20 minutes descending path to reach the beach.
